Haldiram plans units in Khurda, Cuttack; nod for Rs 2,780.10 cr proposals

BHUBANESWAR: The state-level single-window clearance authority (SLSWCA) chaired by chief secretary Anu Garg on Friday approved 14 industrial investment proposals worth Rs 2,780.10 crore with the projects expected to create 14,104 jobs.

The projects span food processing, agro-processing, textiles and apparel, chemicals, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, electronics, steel and ferro-alloys, downstream manufacturing and industrial infrastructure.Haldiram Snacks Food Pvt Ltd has proposed to set up snacks and baked products manufacturing facilities in Khurda and Cuttack with an investment of Rs 500 crore and having employment potential of 800 people.The textitle manufacturing sector is set for another addition with Pratima Agro Spinning Mill proposing to invest Rs 125-crore in a textile processing unit in Balangir which will create 400 jobs.

Tiwana Nutrition Global’s cattle-feed manufacturing unit, involving Rs 140 crore, is projected to create another 2,500 jobs.In high-value manufacturing, Syrma SGS Technology Ltd will establish a Rs 300 crore printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies and box-build manufacturing facility in Khurda, creating 500 jobs. Sastasundar Healthbuddy Ltd plans to invest Rs 56 crore in a medical-device manufacturing unit with employment potential of 1,050.

Premium Chick Feeds has proposed to establish units across Khurda, Cuttack and Nayagarh at a cost of Rs 105.38 crore. They are expected to generate 1,054 jobs.

Sahana Clothing Company’s proposed readymade garment unit for knitted baby and kidswear in Dhenkanal involves an investment of Rs 251.45 crore and expected to generate 5,104 jobs, the largest employment commitment among the approved projects.
